The Sea Cargo Charter Association (SCCA) and the Poseidon Principles Association (PPA) are both seeking for qualified consultants or firms to submit a proposal to serve as the new Technical Advisory, from 2026 and onwards, and publish today a Request for Proposal (RFP).
Following the departure of the current Technical Advisory, both associations are looking for a new service provider as Technical Advisory. Based on the submissions by the applicants, the respective Steering Committees will appoint the new Advisory for a start in Q2 2026. The expected timeline is as follows:
– 9 December 2025: RFP published on Poseidon Principles and Sea Cargo Charter websites
– 9 January 2026: Acknowledgement deadline (deadline to express interest in submitting a proposal)
– 13 February: Proposal submission deadline
– End of February or early March: Steering Committee select new technical advisory based on applications
– March 2026: Yearly service agreements drafted
– March to April 2026: Start of advisory services, including a handover with UMAS (previous Technical Advisory)
Detailed information, terms and conditions are set out in the RFP and available here.
While the associations prefer that one party provide advisory services for both the PPA and SCCA to maintain the benefits of the pre-existing collaboration and knowledge sharing; candidates can choose to send an application for both Associations, or only for one (PPA or SCCA). When applying for both services, only one proposal should be submitted, but the selected advisor will have separate service agreements with each association as the required services differ slightly. It’s also preferred to work with the same advisory over the course of multiple years, via an annual renewal of Service Agreement.
